Stony Brook’s ABC Countdown to Summer is off to a great start! Here are some beautiful drawings from Art Day, photos from Bubble Day, and more playground pictures!

I'm excited to say hello, and to consider your student a rising third grader! I am looking forward to meeting your student and you, and want to provide some information so you can better understand the transition process, as coming to a new school can be exciting, nerve-racking, and everywhere in between. Rest assured, Eddy Elementary has a wonderful, kind, and skilled staff who will care for your student and help them grow each day.
Our transition activities for second graders coming to Eddy next year include:
- Mrs. Bono, our adjustment counselor, and I will visit students in their classroom on 6/1.
- We will hold two parent/caregiver information sessions in the Eddy Elementary Library on 6/1 @ 2:15pm and 6/2 @ 5:00pm. Please RSVP here: https://forms.gle/WBeLk84sFNYQDt248
- Second graders will visit Eddy Elementary School on 6/18 during the school day to receive a tour, have Q&A with staff and students, meet teachers, and visit classrooms.
I realize this transition may produce feelings of anxiety for your student, and I am confident with these activities, we will lower the level of nerves, and increase the feelings of excitement to attend Eddy Elementary School! I will also plan additional tours over the summer at Eddy (dates/times to be shared in June) for those students who would like another opportunity to say hello and tour the building. Please know that Eddy staff and Stony Brook staff collaborate closely, to ensure that your student's academic, social, and emotional needs are communicated, and we work together to coordinate the implementation of existing IEP and 504 plans if one is in place.
In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out to me directly at: gudituss@nausetschools.org. I look forward to meeting your student and you soon!
Sincerely,
Steve Guditus

This organization is working with us to make school supply shopping as simple as one click! Simply click the link below, and supplies will be delivered to Eddy over the summer with your student's name on it. We will provide the supplies on the first or second day of school when the classroom teacher helps students start to organize their materials. This is of course optional, and you may certainly still go shopping for supply lists if you prefer.
The supply school store closes June 30, so that materials may be organized and shipped to Eddy over the summer.

Hello Eddy Families and Students,
All Eddy students are invited to participate in the New England Math League Competition next week. This is free of charge, takes place entirely during the school day, and is open to all third, fourth, and fifth graders. If you would like your student to participate, please complete the sign up at: https://bit.ly/EddyMathContest2026. There is an optional practice test during the school day on Monday, May 4, and the contest is a written math competition on Friday, May 8; this all occurs during the school day. The top three student scores at each grade level will be submitted to the New England Math League for consideration to represent Eddy Elementary across New England schools!

Dear Stony Brook and Eddy Families,
We are getting excited for the upcoming Brewster parade this Sunday (5/3) and have been very hard at work creating an amazing float to represent our schools! This year's theme is "Brewster Beach Day"!
We are asking for donations of individually wrapped candy to share with parade viewers. If you are able to contribute, please send in bags of candy to your school’s main office by Friday afternoon.
We are also looking for as many families as possible to walk with us in the parade! It’s a wonderful way to show school spirit and be part of this fun community event. Every family that signs up HERE to walk will be entered into a raffle for a prize! Of course, anyone is welcome to join us on the day of the parade—just remember that all children must be accompanied by an adult. The parade will step off from the Eddy Elementary parking lot at 1:00 PM, traveling west on Route 6A to Swamp Road. If you plan on walking, we will dress in blues, greens, and purples. Beach hats, shades, and floaties are also welcome.
Let’s show the town what an awesome group our Stony Brook and Eddy community is!
Thank you for your support,
Steve and Carolan
