Today, October 5, is World Teacher's Day which honors educators and the teaching profession worldwide! 🎉
Educators across our Nauset Public Schools empower, challenge, and inspire our students to be and do their best every day. Join us in celebrating World Teacher's Day by thanking a teacher who has shaped your life! 🙏💛

Last school year, Nauset Regional Middle School's Mrs. Remillard participated in The NEA Foundation's Global Learning Fellowship, studying the UN Sustainable Development Goals and concepts of global citizenship. Over the summer, she traveled to South Africa with her Global Learning Fellowship colleagues to learn from scholars and teachers from around the world. 💭✈
Mrs. Remillard returned to Cape Cod reinvigorated and excited to teach NRMS students about sustainability, equity, and the shared human responsibilities of stewarding and protecting the planet. 🌳

Students in our Nauset Regional High School Culinary Arts program hit the road for a farm hopping field trip around the Mid and Lower Cape! They visited Chatham Bars Inn Farm, Cape Abilities Farm, and the oyster aquaculture site at Mants Landing to see firsthand the connection between our local land, waters, and food supply. 🌊👩🍳
Thank you to the fantastic community hosts in Dennis and Brewster who supported our students' immersive learning! 🥕🐟🥗
Music education is alive at Wellfleet Elementary School! More than thirty students in Grades K-3 chose to practice and play an instrument, and many of our students in Grades 4 and 5 perform in the WES band!
Last week, Mr. Staker facilitated 53 instrumental lessons for WES students across all grade levels. This means students across the entire school are discovering the joy of making music. Way to go, WES! 🎶👏

Fifty years ago, in honor of the country's 1976 Bicentennial, Stony Brook Elementary School fourth graders planted 13 linden and maple trees near Town of Brewster, Cape Cod Town Hall to represent the original colonies. By the nation's 250th celebration this year, only 12 trees remained.
On Constitution Day, our Eddy Elementary School fourth graders helped replant the missing thirteenth tree alongside three former fourth graders who helped plant the original trees in 1976!
Thank you to Brewster town officials and DPW for involving a new generation of fourth graders in this experience!
Our Eastham Elementary School students are learning how to be safe in school, make good choices, and know when and how to ask for help thanks to Officer Mike Reveruzzi, the Town of Eastham Police Department officer assigned to support Eastham Elementary School.
Officer Mike has been visiting classrooms at EES this week, talking with students to help make our school community safer and more informed. Thank you, Officer Mike!
Nauset Regional High School students in our Beacon program recently took a field trip to the Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., while it was on display in West Yarmouth.
Prior to the field trip, students studied the origins of the Vietnam War and its controversial legacy, and developed thoughtful questions about the composition and make-up of the traveling Wall.

Our Nauset Middle School 8th graders celebrated their final year of middle school with a Class of 2031 BBQ! During this milestone event, they painted a fun class mural and left their handprints, signatures, and creative mark on the walls of NRMS. 🖤💛

It's #FlashbackFriday and we're going back to the first event of our new school year: New Staff Orientation!
In late August, just before Opening Day, we welcomed all of Nauset's new educators and the educator-mentor members of our Mentor and Induction Program to Nauset Regional Middle School for New Staff Orientation. Over two days, our new staff and mentors learned from one another prepared for a strong start to the school year.
It's going to be a great year at Nauset! ⚓🍏

This week is National Arts in Education Week, which celebrates the transformative power of creative, visual, and performing arts in education!
All Nauset Public Schools students have the opportunity to create, thrive, and explore their passions through the arts. From art classes to band, chorus, theater, and dance to pottery and jewelry-making and so much more, our NPS students are engaged in the arts at every level of their education!
Recently, the metals and jewelry program at Nauset Regional High School was featured in both the September issue of the Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America's MJSA Journal and in The Provincetown Independent.

What a beautiful morning for Nauset Regional High School's Senior Sunrise and Breakfast!
Our NRHS Class of 2027 kicked off their senior year with an early morning walk to Nauset Light Beach to watch the sunrise, followed by a class breakfast at the high school. 🌊
Many thanks to our NRHS staff and volunteers who helped plan, staff, and support this event - and to our School Resource Officer, Detective Dan Burnham, and K9 Nova 🐾 who escorted our seniors safely to the beach! Way to go, Class of 2027! 👏

🥰🟠🎨ORLEANS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL DOT DAY:
September 15 is International Dot Day, a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration, inspired by Peter H. Reynolds's book, The Dot.
Students and staff at Orleans Elementary School celebrated International Dot Day by "making their mark" and embracing a spirit of self-discovery, sharing, confidence, and courage inspired by The Dot. Way to go, OES! 👏🌈
It's cool to be back in school and our Eddy Elementary School students and staff agree! Here's to a great Week 2 of the 2026-2027 school year!

Nauset Regional Middle School students, staff, and community members gathered outside with members of the Orleans Police Department and Orleans Fire Department at 8:46 this morning in solemn remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.
In his remarks about the anniversary, Dr. Cohen shared ways students can carry forward the values of courage and compassion that emerged after 9/11. NRMS students helped lower the flag to half mast and student musician, Noah, played "Taps" on his trumpet following a moment of silence.

Last week, Nauset staff kicked off the start of the 2026-2027 school year with Convocation at Nauset Regional High School!
Superintendent Dr. Glenn Brand welcomed everyone back with an exciting vision for the year ahead. Gian Paul Gonzalez, educator and founder of the Hope + Future Foundation, delivered an inspiring keynote motivating NPS staff to be ALL IN for our students, schools, and one another.
Special thank you to our student musicians from Eddy Elementary School, Nauset Regional Middle School, and Nauset Regional High School who provided the morning's musical accompaniment!

Our NPS staff members began the school year by committing to being ALL IN for our students, our schools, and each other. Thanks for the inspiration, Gian Paul Gonzalez!

Dear Nauset Families,
The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) has launched the MCAS Family Portal, which lets families see their students' MCAS test results. Preliminary MCAS results from spring 2026 are currently available in the portal, along with results from past years (2023–2025). The MCAS Family Portal will be updated in September when final MCAS results are ready.
To access the MCAS portal, you will need your student’s unique registration code and their date of birth. To find your student’s code, log into your Aspen Go Parent Portal, click on the Family tab, and look for the MCAS Registration Code box.
Using that code and your student’s date of birth, sign into the MCAS Family Portal.
Need help? Contact us at aspen@nausetschools.org
For more resources, see the MCAS Family Portal Help Guide at www.doe.mass.edu/mcas/family-portal, which shows you step by step how to create an account, add your student to your account, and view your student's test results.
Thank you.
The Nauset Administration Team
