Dear Fourth Grade Families,

I am writing to share an update regarding Mrs. Connolly. As many of you know, she has been out on medical leave for an extended period of time. Unfortunately, due to ongoing health considerations, Mrs. Connolly will not be able to return to the classroom for the remainder of the school year.

While we know this news may be disappointing for students and families, I want to reassure you that Mrs. Wallace will continue serving as the long-term substitute teacher through the end of the school year. Mrs. Wallace has done an exceptional job providing continuity, care, and high-quality instruction for our students, and we are grateful for her commitment to the class during this time.

Mrs. Connolly asked that I share the following message with all of you:

Dear Fourth Grade Families and Students,

It is with a heavy heart that I write to share some difficult news. Due to my ongoing medical leave, I will not be able to return to our classroom to finish the remainder of the school year. I am so incredibly sorry that I cannot be there with you all for these final weeks. It truly breaks my heart that our time together is being cut short in this way, and I deeply apologize for not being able to say goodbye in person.

Please know that I feel profoundly blessed to have spent the majority of this year working with your wonderful children. Getting to know each student, watching them learn, and sharing so many special moments together has been the greatest gift. I am so grateful to you, the families, for your constant support, partnership, and trust throughout this journey.

To my amazing students: I believe in each and every one of you so much. I care about you deeply, and I am incredibly proud of all the hard work, kindness, and growth you have shown this year. Even though I cannot be at school right now, I am still cheering you on from afar. I know Mrs. Wallace has taken great care of you in my absence and will continue to do so.

You are prepared and ready for the exciting challenges ahead. I know without a doubt that you will go on to do great things in fifth grade!

Thank you all for the beautiful memories and laughs we shared this year. I wish you a happy summer and I will see you in September or around town!

With all my love and gratitude,

XO,
Mrs. Connolly

On behalf of the entire Wellfleet Elementary School community, we thank Mrs. Connolly for her dedication to our students and wish her continued healing and good health. We also thank our fourth-grade families for their support and understanding throughout this year.

Sincerely,

Dear Grade 5 Students and Families,

The upcoming weeks are filled with exciting activities, opportunities for reflection, and celebrations as we recognize an important milestone for our Grade 5 students. For most of this class, this marks six years at Wellfleet Elementary School, a tremendous achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated.

Our end-of-year festivities began this past Friday with a successful visit to Nauset Regional Middle School. Students participated in team-building activities, met middle school staff members, and heard from NRMS Principal Dr. Peter Cohen. The visit provided an opportunity for students to begin envisioning their next chapter.

This week, we are looking forward to the WES Amazing Race! As many of you know, the Amazing Race is a series of activities that take place throughout Wellfleet and celebrates community, service learning, and fun. With favorable weather in the forecast, we are planning for Elspeth Hay to guide our students on a nature walk near Long Pond. The walk will culminate with lunch and a celebration at Long Pond.

Families are invited to join us at Long Pond from 11:50 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. for an extended lunch celebration and swim. Certified lifeguards will be on duty, and we would love to have families participate in this special gathering. Following lunch, students will continue the celebration with a stop at Gelato Joy before concluding the day by participating in the Amazing Race presentation on the front lawn of Town Hall (1:15pm). We hope you will join us for all or part of the festivities!

Additionally, we invite families to our Grade 5 Celebration on Thursday, June 18, at 5:30 p.m. This special event will continue our tradition of recognizing students by connecting their unique characteristics and contributions to our community with our "Famous Fleetions" theme. The evening will conclude with a slideshow celebrating our students' years at WES.

To help make the slideshow memorable, we are seeking photographs of our Grade 5 students throughout the years. If you have photos you would like to contribute, please send them to Lindsey Belair at belairl@nausetschools.org by Wednesday, June 10.

We look forward to celebrating this remarkable group of students and sharing these special moments with your families.

Sincerely,

Adam O'Shea

First, I would like to send our well wishes to Ms. Amie Ryone, the bus driver for LeCount. She will be taking some time to address medical matters, and we look forward to seeing her back in action next fall.
Beginning tomorrow, Friday, May 8th, we will reduce transportation from three buses to two buses. LeCount will no longer be a bus option. We apologize for the short notice and appreciate your patience and flexibility as we work through these adjustments.

Linked is the updated bus routes for White Crest & Newcomb Bus :
