Good morning Grade 5 Families,
Unfortunately, our week-long adventure scheduled for next week will need to be postponed due to the N.E.E.D. building not yet being ready. As you may know, the old Coast Guard Station has undergone significant renovations, including a new roof, siding, and additional updates to ensure ADA compliance. The construction team has encountered several challenges, which has delayed completion.
Our new tentative dates for the trip will be April 13–17, the week before Spring Break. We recognize that this timing overlaps with our Spring Concert and Art Show, so we have decided to move that event to Thursday, May 21st.
The N.E.E.D. Director, Ellie Moody, has already met with the students and shared some of the exciting activities planned for their stay. To keep the momentum going, Ellie has offered a day trip on Wednesday, October 22nd, where students will spend the day exploring the Outer Cape and climbing the Pilgrim Monument.
Thank you for your understanding and flexibility as we navigate these changes. We’re confident the spring experience will be well worth the wait!
Stay dry,
Principal O'Shea

Dear Nauset Parents, Guardians, and Staff,
Now that the school year is underway, it is essential that we ensure the accuracy of the contact information in our information system. Maintaining up-to-date information helps us effectively communicate with families and staff across the district.
To support this effort, we will be conducting a test of our communication system tomorrow, Tuesday, September 16 at 5:30 p.m. This test will include:
A phone call to your listed priority contact number, and
A text message (for those who have opted in to receive texts).
If you do not receive the test call or text, please refer to the instructions below for updating your contact information.
Thank you for helping us keep our communication system accurate and reliable.
Sincerely,
Glenn Brand, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools

Our all-school whale watch trip originally scheduled for this Friday has been moved to Monday, the 15th, due to inclement weather.
If you have already purchased a ticket and are unable to attend on Monday, a refund will be available at the front office.
For those planning to join us on the new date and who have already purchased tickets, you also have the option to ride the bus with students and staff. The bus will depart WES at 9:30 a.m. and is expected to return around 2:00 p.m.
Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you on Monday!

Please enjoy the most recent edition of the WES Backpack.
