Happy 2026, EES Community! We hope everyone enjoyed a nice holiday break.

This is a gentle reminder that per the Nauset Public Schools Student Handbook, cellphones and smart watches at the elementary and middle schools are prohibited for students. Please see the following link to the NPS Policies and Handbook.

NPS Policies and Handbook

Cell Phones

Nauset Regional High School

Students are required to place their cell phones in numbered slots in the classroom phone caddy when they enter their classrooms. They may collect them at the end of class. This will minimize distractions, increase engagement, and have a positive impact on learning. This doesn’t mean students will be completely denied cell phone access. According to PEW Research, most teens use cell phones just to pass the time, but it is still a complicated relationship (Schaeffer, K. 2019). In recognition of this, students will have access to their phones between classes and during lunch.

Nauset Regional  Middle School

Cell phones and smart watches with texting capabilities are prohibited. All phones will remain in backpacks and never be taken out and used during the school day.

PreK-5

Cell phones are prohibited. All phones will remain in backpacks (and never be taken out and used) during the school day.

Digital Safety and Mindfulness Night

Nauset Public Schools invites families to attend Digital Safety and Mindfulness, an engaging evening focused on responsible technology use and online safety. This free event will support parents, caregivers, staff, and students ages 11 and up in understanding today’s digital risks and how to navigate them thoughtfully.

The session will address topics such as cyber cruelty, safe communication in gaming, social media oversharing, artificial intelligence and deepfakes, and emerging digital trends impacting youth.

Date: January 22, 2026
Time: 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM
Location: Nauset Middle School Auditorium
Cost: Free to attend

We encourage families to attend together for a shared conversation about digital responsibility and well being.
