What We Do Matters - Upcoming Events

On Monday, April 29th at 7pm, there is an important event on hate crimes in Massachusetts and on what we can do to make our communities on Cape Cod ones that foster tolerance and stand up to hate.

The speaker for this event will be Robert Trestan, New England Executive Director of the Anti-Defamation League or ADL. ADL is a leading anti-hate organization. Founded in 1913 to fight anti-Semitism and bigotry against Jews, its ultimate goal today is a world in which no group or individual suffers from bias, discrimination or hate. He has been a civil rights leader and attorney for more than 25 years, and led a statewide coalition that was responsible for drafting one of the most comprehensive anti-bullying laws in the country. He currently serves on the Massachusetts Hate Crimes Task Force, advising Governor Baker on ways to combat hate crimes in the Commonwealth.

Mr. Trestan’s presentation will be followed by a panel discussion by local people on “Moving Toward an Inclusive Cape Cod.” The panelists come from different perspectives of living on Cape Cod while not being in the "majority" in some way: racially, religiously, culturally or in their sexual or gender identity.

Please join us for this important evening because what we do matters. All are welcome!
April 29, 7pm in the Nauset Middle School Auditorium.
