Building Project Updates from Superintendent Tom Conrad
July 16, 2018 -Harry Terkanian and James Nowack traveled to the Massachusetts School Building Authority (MSBA) to meet the Owner's Project Manager review panel to finalize the selection of an OPM for the building project. The OPM selection subcommittee of the School Building Committee selected Daedelus Projects. The MSBA approved the selection. The OPM represents the District with the architect and the contractor.
October 2, 2018 - Superintendent Tom Conrad, Principal Chris Ellsasser, and the Chair of the Building Committee, Greg Levasseur traveled to the MSBA and met with the Designer Selection Panel (13 members plus 3 representatives of the project) to rank and choose a designer for the project. It was voted unanimously that Flansburg Associates, Inc. will be the designer for the Nauset Regional High School building project.
November 26, 2018 - Members of the Massachusetts School Building Authority, Members of Flansburg Associates, Principal Ellsasser, Greg Levasseur (Chair of the Building Committee), Jim Nowack (Assistant Director of Finance and Operations for the Nauset Public Schools) and Superintendent Tom Conrad met to review the next steps in the High School building project, Module 3 and Module 4 of the MSBA's procedures.
Module 3 - Feasibility Study - Preliminary Design Program (PDP) The Committee will identify the educational program, describe existing conditions, identify regulatory elements and identify the range of options to meet the educational program.
Module 4 - Preferred Schematic Report (PSR) This will identify the solution that will meet the goal and the preferred schematic design that the Committee would like the MSBA to vote on)
These two modules could take about one year to complete.
