    The Pleasant Bay Experience

All Nauset Middle School 7th graders participated in the Pleasant Bay Project throughout the school year through a generous grant from the Friends of Pleasant Bay. Throughout the seasons, each home room was taken on an all day field trip to several sites around Pleasant Bay to find “The Pleasant Bay No One Sees”. On these field trips students were able to take photographs, sketch pictures, and create observational drawings, as well as write notes about why these places are the Pleasant Bay people should see. Students were also able to demonstrate science and math connections through art. Back at school, students created artwork inspired by their experiences.

Student photographs, drawings, and other artwork inspired by their experiences were presented to the Friends of Pleasant Bay. The presentation was at the NRMS school auditorium. The display was open to the general public to create a greater awareness of what Pleasant Bay has to offer the community.
