Grades 4 and 5 make monthly trips to the Council on Aging to sing in a Multigenerational Chorus called the Rememorable Chorus of Eastham. Students meet and sing with seniors with early onset of Alzheimer's. Not only is it a time for the children and seniors to socialize but songs are sung from both the student's generation (current pop songs) and songs the seniors have sung when they were growing up that students become familiar with (such as Old Cape Cod). It is a sharing time for both young and old as music brings the two generations together.
Each Gr. 4 and 5 class meets for an hour (10:30 - 11:30) the 3rd Friday of the month @ COA on a rotating schedule.Watch this short video clip about the Multigenerational Chorus:
