About Music Memory:
Music Memory is a program initiated Cape-Wide, made possible by the Cape Symphony Orchestra, and culminating in a concert and competition in the spring.
In the program, Grades 3-5 study 12-16 pieces of music by famous composers throughout the year in which music themes, harmonies, instruments, vocal styles, form, tempo, dynamics, and foreign language will be taught, as well as social studies information surrounding the lives of composers.
Approximately 2 pieces per month will be studied - listening activities may include viewing video maps, movement and rhythm activities appropriate for each piece as well as review games and assessments along the way after each quarter (4 pieces).
Each piece is categorized as either an orchestral work, small group ensemble, vocal selection, or piano piece.
