	COMPUTER LITERACY SKILLS Students will demonstrate competency in the use of computer hardware and software. Students will be able to: Grades K-2 Name the parts of a computer. Open/close/save a document. Launch a CD-ROM program. Follow classroom rules for computer use. Grades 3-4 Format a word processing document. Enter data and graph using a spreadsheet. Use a drawing program. Understand beginning keyboarding concepts Grades 5-6 Create a simple spreadsheet with formulas. Use and query a ready-made database. Create a multimedia presentation. Open and save information from the network. Be comfortable with keyboarding concepts. Grades 7-8 Create a desktop-published document Create and query a simple database. Create a concept map for pre-research. Use an Internet browser efficiently.		INFORMATION LITERACY SKILLS Students will be able to access, evaluate, cite, and use information from a variety of sources Students will be able to: Grades K-2 Locate items in the library. Use the automated catalog to locate a book. Grades 3-4 Create a plan for searching for print information. Gather information from several sources in the library. Determine the relevance of information found. Cite information in a modified MLA format. Grades 5-6 Use an expanded range of print and non-print sources to gather information. Follow established criteria for evaluation of found information. Determine the relevance of the  information found. Grades 7-8 Use an Internet search engine effectively. Create their own set of critical evaluative criteria. Understand the principle of copyright. Cite information in full MLA format.
